Too many people wanted to say that they voted for the first “black/women” president to let a white guy win the nomination, even if his ideas were better then the other two candidates.

Quick google search will show various links that do proof life expectancy does increase amongst medical cannabis users. Especially those with Asthma(not smoking of course), Anxiety/Depression, AIDs, Cancer and other various serious ailments. I got my stat 2nd hand from a medical professional so i apologize i cannot provide a direct medical link to show its true. However no one can prove it decreases life expectancy if used properly.

One could say though that the top things that do kill in north america are Anxiety/Depression related illnesses, AIDs, and Cancer. That if medicinal cannabis were used in treatment and already do prove that life expectancy does increase with medicinal use of the plant. That overall it probably does and would increase the life expectancy. Especially those with Anxiety/Depression which affects almost everyone at some point in their life. Weed calms your body down its a natural stress/pain reliever

And its certainly better for your mind and body then the terrible things that Anti-Dep drugs can give you. U can go to any doctor and they will glady write you up a prescription for those terrible meds. Though it seems every year at least one gets banned or pulled from the market because of serious harmful side effects. Because its such an easy cash grab for pharm comp they push them through approval process as fast as possible. Weed though if used properly simply calms and treats its natural!

I agree with all of this, but I’m just wondering about the anxiety/depression stuff, b/c there is a correlation b/w using marijuana heavily recreationally and depression. The thing is though is that doctors throw it out as if it is causing depression although they VERY well know correlation is not causation, so I wonder if it’s just b/c the ppl that tend to smoke it heavily for recreational purposes are just depressed already. I don’t know. What do you think about that???

I use cannabis personally for medicinal reasons to help my anxiety to stop depression. My anxiety is a bi product of ADD as its harder to cope with well.. life all at once. Cannabis calms me down to think more rationally and not stress that can lead to depression. But i would never say weed is the cause of this depression its the anxiety. Ive only been taking for a year now and its the only thing that works ritalin, wellbutrin as well as other things i have been put on by doctors simply dont.

I can only speak for myself however. But it is my sincere opinion that the arguement that it causes depression/gateway drug is bogus. People can turn to mind altering substances and abuse them for one reason and one reason only – ESCAPE. Some ppl dont know what they are escaping or even that they are and even if they do know they dont necessarily know how to cope. thus the depression. The key to fighting it is finding out how to cope. Many though end up abusing their bodies in a negative way.

The problem is the inability to get education and help to ppl with medical bills so high and rates for counselers and pyshciatrists its sometimes impossible to get help esp those from the ghettos who have no money. Its very easy to see how such a cycle can exist. But give someone something to chase and abuse and blame it on depression. Should be also interesting to note that the majority of hard drug addicted people typically grow up in a family where there is no father figure present.

Parents give skills to kids as they bring them up to cope with life. So that later in life how are they able to cope if they are not taught?(single parent families can still do this) This and many other REAL reasons can be attributed to depression and drug addiction. If you dont have the skills how can you expect some1 to cope with life? Most ppl just needed a educating figure in their life or need one now but cant afford or know that there is help. So many run/get addicted to drugs.

I would have to agree, that med-mary jane is better than the anti-depressant drugs. I have seen several people worse off after taking anti-depressants. In this instance, I would support an initiative.

Obama supports the bipartisan New Energy Reform Act. McCain opposes it.

The New Energy Reform Act has four basic components:

    – Opens additional areas for drilling, while preserving national treasures like ANWR.

    – Dedicates $20 billion to R&D alternative fuels.

    – Creates tax incentives to save energy.

    – Closes tax loopholes for big oil.

If you can afford $520 Ferragamo shoes, you can afford to play politics with the energy crisis. But I’m glad Obama is looking for real solutions now!

i agree. ive been smoking pot for years and ive never tried any other drugs. the whole gateway theory is just to scare people. however, i do disagree with the fact that people do drugs to “escape”. People do drugs for curiosity. Think about it, if you’ve never tried cocaine before and you’re having a bad day your not gonna think “oh im having a bad day let me see if this will fix it”. People do it for curiosity, hell, that’s why i tried pot.

..(not to mention that it rots ur brain after extended abuse) oh yah they benefit directly from that aswell… and they keep something away from you that will destroy ur short term memory if u abuse it ( not to evan mention the benifits from use, since there are NO benefits from cigarettes or alcohol)… Lame system if you ask me.
